Ektara, oldest one string instrument is held in the right hand & can be played with stroke of first finger. It can be tuned according to throat voice.

It is a one kind of flute has an oval gourd of narrow holes bored on the neck. It has a weird, captivating air, which lingers on for long. Two thin, smooth bamboos with holes are attached in the center of the gourd below. Two human hairs are inserted in the pipes & attached with wax. The big opening in the narrow portion of the gourd is blown by the mouth & notes & tunes are produced with over powering effect.
